BG Dotty
The East Coast is heavily renown for producing some of the most lyrically-inclined artists when it comes to the Hip-Hop genre. There is a well-seasoned artist that is vastly capturing the ears of listeners on a national level, known as BG Dotty.
Dotty hails from Massachusetts and began his musical quest around the age of 12, under the inspiration of his two brothers. He grew up as an avid poet that wrote about nearly everything that entered his mind. Unbeknownst to him, boredom would spawn a different path that would eventually lead to a career in music and so much more.
Two years later, he was ready to pursue music wholeheartedly. The 14 year old high school freshman linked up with ATL aka “Slick” and his brother Country aka “Brendo”. The two owned a studio and were experienced in recording, mixing and mastering tracks.
“The first track I laid down was a diss track to this group called, The Horseman. My brother stacks had beef with them. So instead of bringing it to the streets, I wrote a verse about them,” BG Dotty said.
Dotty laid the foundation for his success by releasing two successful mixtapes, “Still Pullen Ova time” and “Still Pullen Ova time 1.9: Slime Life Haters”. Part one of the series was influenced by the grim street life that he once lived. The second part is a fit more for the party crowd. He has also released many popular singles such as: “Confidence”, “We Made It”, “Franco Vanucci”, as well as an EP entitled, “Myself”.
If you ask him, one of his most notable accomplishments is using music as a means to transform his life. He lived the real “fast life” that unfortunately resulted in incarceration beginning at the age of 14 years old. Though he had his share of mishaps, his will to succeed is impeccable and he is now in a position mentally, physically, and emotionally where he can be a viable asset in today’s music market.
The passionate young artist is registered with BMI as a songwriter and also owns a music publishing company, Hooliganz Music.
Dotty is currently working on recording two new mixtapes. One is a compilation-style project that will feature a host of remixes from previous recordings and the latter will be strictly trap music. He is also in the process of recording a new LP and EP. The plans he has don’t stop with creating music either. He hopes to segway into entrepreneurship as he is in the process of launching his own record company.
